100を切る (3): エネルギー補給の重要性についての関連です。「補足」と大げさではありますが、「そういえば、あのときの結果は栄養管理も原因していたかな」と思ったので。- Poppy Ridge: 40 + 45 = 80 (8月炎天下のLivermoreでの8amスタート。水のみ摂取。朝ご飯なし。Merlotのスタートホールは、特にティーに辿り着くまでの山登りがさすがに応えたらしい。後半のMerlotにいくころには気温が40℃近くあがっていた。)
- Shoreline: 38 + 44 = 82 (8月, 10amスタート。水とチョコレートを3ホールおきに摂取。後半はパーが拾っていけなかったのだが、栄養管理よりもむしろ技術力の影響が強いかもしれない)
- Shoreline: 38+42 = 80 (3月, 8:30amスタート、朝ご飯抜き。水のみ摂取。当日はトーナメントがあるのをど忘れしていて慌てて駆けつける。14番ホールくらいからジョジョにスローダウンしていたかもしれない)
この「栄養管理」を怠る事は、長いクラブを打つときのみならず、パッティングにも影響をしている。微妙な身体のブレがボールの回転やパスに影響するからだ。体力が減るとショットの精度が悪くなり、グリーンを外し、パットでリカバリーができなくなるという悪循環に陥る。偶然かもしれないが、この3つの結果では例外無く後半のパットが悪い。
This is a supplement of the previous entry (breaking 100(3): nutrient management). Thought other results were also affected by poor nutrient management....
- At Poppy Ridge (Livermore): 40 + 45 = 85 (August, 2007. Started at 8 am. Skipped breakfast. Took only water while playing. "A hike" between the club house and the first tee ground in Merlot was a killer. The temperature already exceeded 100 degF when I finished the front-9 (Zinfandel)).
- At Shoreline: 38 + 44 = 82 (August, 2007. Started at 10 am. Skipped breakfast and lunch. Took water and snickers every 3 holes. I guess my short game was not that shaped? More or less due to technical errors?)
- At Shoreline: 38 + 42 = 80 (March, 2007. Started at 8:30 am. No breakfast. Took only water during the round. I felt I was slowing down after finishing the 14th green...)
The poor nutrient management does certainly impact your long game as well as your putting without doubt. When you lose your energy, you won't be able to make solid contact and lose your focus. In fact, my putting was worse in the back-9 than in the front-9 in every case.
